This is the untold chapter of identity, politics, and belonging in one of the world’s most exclusive nations. 🌍 Key Takeaways 🛂 What happened: Between 2008–2018, the UAE arranged for some stateless residents (Bidoon) and mixed-heritage families to receive Comoros passports instead of UAE nationality. 💰 Why it happened: The deal was part of Comoros’ “economic citizenship” program, allowing other nations to purchase passports for stateless residents. ⚖️ Who received them: Stateless individuals and children of Emirati fathers with non-Arab or foreign mothers were among the recipients. ❗ What it meant: These passports offered documentation, not true citizenship rights in either Comoros or the UAE. 🕊️ Current status: The program ended amid corruption scandals and human rights criticism, leaving many holders in legal limbo. The Controversial Story Behind the Comoros Passport & UAE Deal Imagine being born in one of the world’s richest countries, yet having no nationality, no passport, no right to travel. That was the reality for thousands of Bidoon, stateless residents in the United Arab Emirates. To address this complex issue, the UAE struck a little-known deal with the Union of the Comoros, a small island nation off Africa’s east coast. In this definitive explainer, we’ll uncover how and why the UAE offered Comoros passports, who was affected, and what happened to them after the program collapsed. 🧭 What Was the Comoros Passport Program? Between 2008 and 2013, the Comorian government introduced an “economic citizenship” scheme, essentially, a way for foreigners to buy citizenship through investment. The UAE saw an opportunity: rather than granting full Emirati nationality to its stateless population, it could purchase Comorian passports in bulk and assign them to certain residents. This provided an administrative fix.. on paper, these individuals were no longer “stateless.” In practice, it shifted responsibility to another nation. 👥 Who Were the Recipients? The majority were Bidoon, families who had lived in the UAE for generations but lacked citizenship. However, reports also confirmed inclusion of children born to Emirati fathers and non-Arab or non-Emirati mothers. Because Emirati nationality laws prioritize Arab lineage and paternal heritage, many mixed-heritage children were left in bureaucratic uncertainty. Issuing Comorian passports allowed the UAE to classify them as “foreign nationals” without granting full citizenship rights. 💡 Why Did the UAE Choose This Approach? Demographic Control: Full Emirati citizenship is tightly restricted; expanding it could alter social and political balance. Legal Convenience: Comorian passports created a nationality “on record,” helping regularize residency status. Economic Exchange: Comoros received millions in revenue; the UAE gained a bureaucratic solution to a sensitive internal issue. In essence, it was a trade of citizenship for stability, a transaction that left many caught between two nations. ⚠️ What Went Wrong Investigations later revealed widespread corruption and misuse. Passport revenues were missing, citizenships were sold to non-UAE-linked individuals, and documentation was poorly managed. By 2018, Comoros had officially suspended the program. The result: thousands of people in the UAE still hold invalid or unrecognized Comorian passports, without citizenship rights in either country. ❓ FAQ: What You Need to Know Did the UAE give Comorian passports to its citizens? No. They were issued to stateless residents and some children of mixed heritage, not to full Emirati citizens. Do these passports allow entry to Comoros? Mostly no. Holders were not guaranteed residency or rights in Comoros. Can holders become UAE citizens now? Citizenship remains restricted. Some have been naturalized on a case-by-case basis, but most still await clear status. Is the program still active? No. It was discontinued after corruption and human rights investigations. ✍️ The Lasting Impact The Comoros passport & UAE case remains a striking example of how nationality, identity, and geopolitics intertwine. It highlights a modern paradox: In a world where some passports grant global mobility, others symbolize exclusion. Thousands still live in uncertainty, documented yet not recognized, visible yet invisible. Have insights or experiences related to this story? The Myth vs. Reality Explained Ever wondered if carrying a Amercian Passport in Pakistan makes you untouchable? A recent high-profile Asad Nadeem Mughal, better known as Baba Op, case at Lahore Airport reignited this myth but the truth is far less glamorous. In this definitive guide, we’ll break down: What rights U.S. citizens actually have in Pakistan. How the U.S. Embassy can (and cannot) help. The difference between traveling as a dual national vs. on a visa. By the end, you’ll know exactly what protections exist and what’s just a dangerous misconception. 🔑 Key Takeaways (At a Glance) 📌 A U.S. passport does not grant immunity in Pakistan. 📌 Dual citizens are treated as Pakistanis under local law. 📌 The U.S. Embassy can assist, but it cannot free you, stop deportation, or interfere in trials. 📌 Americans on Pakistani visas are recognized as U.S. citizens but still must follow all Pakistani laws. 📌 Consular support includes visits, lawyer lists, and family contact, not legal representation. ❓Does a Amercian Passport Give You Special Privileges in Pakistan? No. Despite popular belief, a Amercian Passport does not shield you from Pakistani legal authority. The official stance from the U.S. Department of State is clear: “Pakistani law considers dual U.S.-Pakistani citizens to be exclusively citizens of Pakistan.” This means if you’re arrested, you’ll be treated as a Pakistani first, not an American. ❓What Can the U.S. Embassy Actually Do if You’re Arrested? The American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit can help in limited but important ways: ✅ Ensure you understand charges and have access to defense.✅ Check on your welfare in jail or on bail.✅ Contact your family and help you find an attorney.✅ Request fair treatment and adequate medical care.✅ Provide reading material or vitamins if needed. But here’s what they cannot do: ❌ Get you out of prison.❌ Interfere with trials or court rulings.❌ Pay for lawyers, fines, or medical costs.❌ Act as your translator or interpreter. In other words: support, not rescue. 📋 Step-by-Step: What Happens If You’re Detained Arrest Notification – Pakistani authorities are supposed to inform the U.S. Embassy, though delays happen. Consular Visit – An officer checks your wellbeing and explains your rights. Legal Options – You’ll get a list of English-speaking lawyers, but fees are on you. Family Contact – The embassy can reach out to your family, employer, or friends. Ongoing Support – They may bring essentials, request medical care, and ensure you’re not mistreated. ❓What If You’re Only Traveling on a U.S. Passport? If you entered Pakistan on a visa with only a U.S. passport, you’re treated as an American citizen. Still, you’re under Pakistani law, and the U.S. Embassy cannot override local authorities. If you hold dual nationality and also have a Pakistani passport, then you’re considered 100% Pakistani under the law, even if you also carry a U.S. passport. 🧳 Final Word: The Myth vs. Reality The myth of “automatic protection” with a U.S. passport in Pakistan is false. While the embassy provides crucial support, the law of the land always prevails. So whether you’re a dual citizen or a tourist, the rule is simple: 👉 Respect local laws, stay informed, and don’t expect diplomatic magic to save you. 💬 Over to You Did you know about these limited protections before?Would you feel safer traveling to Pakistan with just a U.S. passport or do you think dual citizens have it tougher? Drop your thoughts in the comments — let’s clear this myth once and for all. Data from Google Trends confirms this isn't just a coincidence searches for this specific phrase have climbed sharply, indicating a growing curiosity about this particular European destination. But as your trusted ethical travel blog, it's my duty to look beyond the search data and provide crucial context. Behind this trend lies a mix of dangerous misconceptions and significant risks that every Pakistani citizen must understand. Today, we're diving deep into this phenomenon to separate the damaging myths from the hard facts, and to guide genuine travelers safely onto the right path. The Allure and The Dangerous Misconception So, what's driving this interest? The reasons often cited online include: Perceived "Ease" of Entry: A misconception that Belarus has less stringent visa procedures compared to Western European nations. Schengen Connection Myths: Rumors that a Belarus visa or passport stamp can be used to easily enter the neighboring Schengen Zone countries (like Poland, Lithuania, or Latvia). This is categorically false. Speculation about Work Opportunities: Unverified claims about abundant, easy-to-get jobs. Let this be your first and strongest warning: Acting on these misconceptions can lead to life-altering consequences. Belarus, like any sovereign nation, has strict immigration laws, and attempting to circumvent them is a severe mistake. The Harsh Reality: Consequences of an Illegal Stay This isn't just about breaking a rule; it's about risking your future and the future of every Pakistani passport holder. For the Individual: A Personal Catastrophe Choosing to overstay your visa or work illegally in Belarus is not a shortcut to a better life; it's a direct path to immense hardship. Detention and Deportation: If caught, you will be arrested, detained, and eventually deported. This process is not quick or comfortable. You will be held in a detention center until your deportation flight is arranged, which you will have to pay for. Bans: This is one of the most severe consequences. Deportation from Belarus almost certainly comes with a multi-year, often lifelong, ban from entering Belarus. Destroyed Career Prospects: A deportation record is permanent. It will show up in international background checks, shutting doors to legitimate career opportunities globally, including in the Middle East, Europe, and North America. Massive Financial Loss: You will face hefty fines from Belarusian authorities on top of the cost of your deportation flight. This is in addition to the significant money you already spent on illegal agents and travel. Immense Personal Hardship: You will be stranded in a foreign country without legal protection, vulnerable to exploitation by unscrupulous employers, and living in constant fear of the authorities. For the Pakistani Passport: A Collective Punishment Every single instance of belarus visa overstay or illegal immigration is noted by international authorities. When trends emerge, as they seem to be with Belarus, the consequences are felt by the entire nation. High-Risk Designation: Countries share data. A high rate of violations from Pakistani nationals leads them to label Pakistan as a "high-risk" country of origin. Stricter Visa Requirements for Everyone: This means every single Pakistani applicant, whether a student, tourist, or business professional, faces: Higher rejection rates. Extremely lengthy and invasive application procedures. A mountain of required documentation (more bank statements, more property proofs, longer employment histories). Mandexpensive guarantees and higher visa fees. Global Reputation Damage: It erodes trust and damages the global reputation of the Pakistani passport, making it weaker for all of us. We all pay the price for the actions of a few. The Right Way: A Legal Guide for Genuine Travelers For those with legitimate reasons to visit, tourism, business meetings, or family visits. Belarus can be a fascinating destination. Here is the correct way to apply. 1. Types of Visas: Short-Term Visa (C-Type): For tourism, private visits, or business. Typically valid for up to 90 days. Long-Term Visa (D-Type): For study, work, or family reunification, requiring additional permits. 2. The Step-by-Step Application Process:The process is structured and requires preparation. Step 1: Get an Invitation (Visa Support). This is mandatory. For: Tourism: A certified tourist voucher from a registered Belarusian tour operator. Business: An official invitation from a registered Belarusian company or organization. Private Visit: An invitation notarized by a Belarusian notary office from your host. Step 2: Complete the Application Form. Fill out the form available on the official portal of the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Step 3: Gather Your Documents. This is where you prove your genuine intent to return: Valid passport with at least 2 blank pages (valid for 90 days beyond your visa). Printed application form. Original invitation (tourist voucher, business invite, etc.). Proof of Strong Ties to Pakistan: This is critical. Employment: Letter from your employer stating your position, salary, and leave approval. Financial Means: Bank statements for the last 3-6 months showing sufficient funds for your stay. Property Documents: Proof of assets (e.g., ownership papers for a house or land). Return Ticket & Hotel Bookings: Confirmed itinerary. Travel insurance valid for the entire Schengen area and Belarus with minimum coverage of €10,000. Visa fee payment receipt. Step 4: Submit Your Application. You must apply in person at the Belarus Embassy in Islamabad or through their designated visa processing centre. Appointments are mandatory. ⚠️ Important Official Source:For the most current and accurate information, always refer to the official website of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: http://www.mfa.gov.by/en/consular/visas/ Conclusion: Travel with Pride, Not Regret The short-term, risky gamble of an illegal stay is never worth the lifelong consequences. It devastates your own future and actively makes travel more difficult for millions of your fellow citizens who follow the rules. Let's be a community that builds the reputation of the Pakistani passport, not one that diminishes it. Choose the legal path. Be a proud, respected representative of Pakistan on the global stage. The world is open to those who approach it with honesty and integrity. Plan wisely, travel safely. ### What is the Dubai Airport Red Carpet Corridor? That future is now, and it’s happening at Dubai International (DXB). Welcome to the Dubai Airport Red Carpet corridor, the world’s first fully automated, passport-free departure system. This isn't a distant prototype or an exclusive lounge for the ultra-elite; it's an operational reality revolutionizing the travel experience today. It's your all-access pass to a seamless, stress-free future of aviation, and a stunning glimpse into the next era of smart travel for everyone. In this definitive guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Dubai Airport's Red Carpet corridor. We'll dive into how the groundbreaking technology works, who can use it right now, what passengers are saying about the "walking on air" experience, and what this means for the future of global travel. Consider this your all-access pass to understanding this game-changing innovation. Key Takeaways: Dubai Airport Red Carpet Corridor at a Glance 🚪 What It Is: A world-first, smart corridor in Dubai Airport's Terminal 3 that allows eligible passengers to depart without physically showing their passport, boarding pass, or stopping at any immigration checkpoint. ⚡ How Fast Is It? Extremely fast. The system can process up to 10 passengers simultaneously, with clearance taking a mere 6 to 14 seconds per person. 🔒 How It Works: It uses a powerful combination of facial recognition (biometric match), artificial intelligence (AI), and pre-verified flight data to confirm your identity and eligibility as you walk. 📍 Current Availability: As of now, the service is only for departing passengers flying out of Terminal 3. Expansion to arrivals and other terminals is planned for the near future. 🎯 The Bottom Line: It offers a smooth, futuristic, and stress-free experience that aligns with Dubai's vision of zero bureaucracy and smart, paperless travel. What Exactly Is the Dubai Airport Red Carpet Corridor? The Red Carpet passport-free departure corridor at Dubai Airport is far more than a fast-track lane. It is a complete reimagining of the border control process. Developed by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in partnership with Dubai Airports, this initiative is a verified global first in automated border processing. Gone are the traditional immigration counters and officers. Instead, passengers simply walk through a designated corridor. As they do, an invisible, intelligent system works in the background to verify their journey, ensuring security is maintained without the need for manual checks. How Does the Passport-Free Technology Work? (The Magic Explained) You might be wondering how this is even possible. Is it secure? The answer is a resounding yes. The system is built on a robust, multi-layered technological foundation: Pre-Verification: Before you even arrive at the airport, your flight data and passport information are already securely stored in the system after you check in. Biometric Matching: As you enter the Red Carpet corridor, high-resolution cameras capture your face. AI-Powered Analysis: Artificial intelligence instantly compares your live biometric data against the pre-verified government and flight databases. Automated Clearance: In the span of a few footsteps, the system confirms: a) Who you are, and b) That you are cleared to depart on your scheduled flight. Seamless Passage: If everything matches, you receive a green light (often literally) and walk straight through to the duty-free area without breaking stride. There is no need to stop, scan, or hand over any documents. The Passenger Experience: What's It Really Like to Use It? So, does it live up to the hype? According to firsthand accounts, absolutely. Passengers from all walks of life—families juggling kids, business travelers on a tight schedule, and tourists—have praised the experience. The most common description? It feels like walking on air. The experience is consistently described as: Smooth: No more awkwardly holding documents open to the right page. Futuristic: It feels like stepping into a sci-fi movie, in the best way possible. Stress-Free: The anxiety of potentially holding up a line or having a document issue is completely eliminated. Incredibly Convenient: Especially for those with carry-on luggage only, it makes the airport journey phenomenally efficient. Who Can Use the Red Carpet Corridor & How to Access It This is the most important question for travelers planning their trip. Current Eligibility: The service is currently operational for departing passengers flying out of Dubai International's Terminal 3. It is being rolled out in phases, so availability may depend on your airline and destination. How to Use It: The process is designed to be intuitive. Eligible passengers will be guided to the corridor after check-in and security. The key is to ensure your biometric data is linked to your booking, which may involve pre-registration or using smart gates on previous trips to the UAE. Always check with your airline for the most current eligibility requirements. The Bigger Picture: Dubai's Vision for the Future of Travel The Red Carpet corridor is much more than a convenient airport feature. It is a strategic pillar of Dubai’s long-term vision for a frictionless future. Zero Bureaucracy: This initiative is a tangible step toward eliminating unnecessary paperwork and delays, making Dubai one of the most efficient travel hubs in the world. Home-Grown Innovation: It showcases cutting-edge Emirati engineering and positions the UAE as a global leader in smart travel technology. Paperless Travel: It perfectly aligns with the UAE’s national push toward digitalization and a paperless economy, setting a new global standard. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Is the Dubai Airport Red Carpet corridor open to everyone? Not yet. Currently, it is only for departing passengers at Terminal 3. However, officials have confirmed plans to expand the service to arrivals and other terminals in the near future. Access may also depend on your nationality and airline. Do I need to register beforehand to use the passport-free corridor? While the system relies on pre-verified data, the specific registration process is still evolving. It often involves having your biometrics (facial image) already on file with UAE immigration from a previous entry. Checking in online and ensuring your passport details are correctly submitted by your airline will likely be key steps. Is the biometric corridor safe and secure? Yes. The system developed by the GDRFA uses advanced AI and encryption to protect passenger data. It is designed to be even more secure than manual checks, as it eliminates human error and relies on tamper-proof digital verification. How long does it take to get through the Red Carpet corridor? The clearance is incredibly fast. The system takes between 6 to 14 seconds to verify each person, and because multiple people can be processed at once, the flow of traffic is continuous and queue-free. What terminals will have the service? The service launched in Terminal 3, which is home to Emirates and Qantas flights. Expansion to Terminals 1 and 2 is part of the official rollout plan, making the technology accessible to more airlines and passengers soon. The Bottom Line: A Glimpse into the Future Dubai's Red Carpet passport-free departure corridor is more than just a luxury perk; it's a revolutionary shift in how we navigate the world. It proves that extreme efficiency and strong security can go hand-in-hand, all while dramatically improving the passenger experience. In a significant policy shift, the era of easy visa renewals is over, marked by the official end of the US visa interview waiver for most travelers. Starting September 2, 2025, the U.S. is ending most in-person interview waivers, meaning almost every applicant from tourists to skilled workers, must now face a consular officer. This change disrupts plans for millions. But don't cancel your dreams just yet. In this definitive guide, we’ll demystify the new rules, list the exempt countries, and provide clear, actionable advice to navigate the process successfully. 📍 Key Takeaways at a Glance: ⏰ Effective Date: September 2, 2025. All applications submitted on or after this date must follow the new rules. 🚫 Interview Waiver Ended: Age-based exemptions (under 14, over 79) and drop-box renewals for eligible visas are discontinued. ✈️ Who's Affected: Most applicants for common visas like B-1/B-2 (Tourism/Business), F-1 (Students), H-1B (Skilled Workers), L-1 (Intra-Company Transfers), and O-1 (Extraordinary Ability). 🛂 Strictest Rules: Nationals from 55 specific countries must attend an interview for *every* non-immigrant visa category, without exception. ℹ️ Pro Tip: Schedule your interview appointment well in advance, as consulate wait times are expected to increase dramatically. What Exactly Changed with the US Visa Interview Waiver? Previously, many applicants could skip the stressful in-person interview. A US visa interview waiver allowed qualifying individuals—like children, seniors, or those renewing certain visas within a specific timeframe—to submit their documents via a drop-box service. That flexibility is now ending. The new policy mandates that most applicants, whether first-time or renewing, must attend an in-person interview. This is designed to enhance security but will undoubtedly create longer wait times and a more complex application process for everyone. Who Is Most Affected by These New Rules? This change casts a wide net, impacting a broad spectrum of travelers: Students (F-1 Visa): Those returning to the U.S. to continue their studies must now interview for each renewal. Professionals (H-1B, L-1, O-1 Visas): Skilled workers and intra-company transferees can no longer bypass the consulate for renewal interviews. Frequent Tourists (B-1/B-2 Visa): Retirees, family visitors, and business travelers who enjoyed easy renewals must now prepare for an interview every time. Are There Any Exceptions to the Interview Requirement? Yes, but very few. The exemptions that remain are narrow: Applicants for certain diplomatic and official visas (A, G, NATO series). Applicants for visas for international organization employees (C-2, C-3, NATO). Specific, limited renewals of full-validity B-1/B-2 visitor visas and border crossing cards for Mexican nationals. Crucially, even in these cases, a consular officer retains the right to require an interview if they deem it necessary. FAQ: I'm from Pakistan. Does the 55-Country List Apply to Me? This is a critical and common question. No, Pakistan is not on the list of 55 countries facing the most stringent restrictions. Pakistani applicants will follow the general new rules, meaning interviews are now required for most—but are not subject to the absolute, non-negotiable interview mandate applied to the listed nations. Pakistan is also not on this list. The 55 Countries Facing the Strictest New Rules Nationals from the following 55 countries must attend an in-person interview for every single non-immigrant visa application, without exception. This list includes nations from across the globe: Afghanistan, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Haiti, Iran, Kyrgyz Republic, Laos, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, São Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Your Action Plan: How to Prepare for the New Process Start Early: Begin your application process months in advance of your intended travel date. Expect significant delays in securing interview appointments. Gather Documentation: Meticulously prepare all required documents. Assume nothing will be waived. Practice for the Interview: Be ready to clearly and concisely state your purpose of travel and demonstrate your intent to return to your home country. This new landscape requires patience and preparation. By understanding these rules inside and out, you can navigate them successfully and make your American dream a reality. The Director General, Mustafa Duhulow, put it perfectly: “Today Somalia joins the world in adopting digital visa solutions.” This move does more than just simplify paperwork; it signals that Somalia is open for responsible, curious tourism. It’s about protecting national security while warmly welcoming those who are eager to discover its rich culture, stunning coastline, and resilient spirit. It’s your cue to extend your stay and explore Baku’s mesmerizing blend of ancient history and hyper-modern F1 glamour. Your Stress-Free Guide to the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix I’ve always believed the biggest hurdle to an incredible international Grand Prix isn’t the cost, it’s the logistics. The forms, the embassy appointments, the uncertainty… it can drain the excitement before you even pack your bags. Well, pack your bags, because Azerbaijan just eliminated that hurdle for the 2025 race. I was thrilled to read the news this week: from August 25 to September 30, 2025, Azerbaijan is offering a special Visa-On-Arrival for anyone coming for the Formula 1 circus. This isn’t just for the media and team personnel; it’s for us, the fans. The government is genuinely inviting the world to experience the electric energy of Baku without the usual visa headaches. So, how does it work? It’s almost too simple. You land at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. You head to the visa counter. Instead of a complex application, you just need to present one of three things: Your valid F1 ticket (yes, a digital copy on your phone works!). An official accreditation from FOM or the FIA. A local accreditation from the Baku City Circuit. That’s it. You get your visa, get your passport stamped, and you’re on your way to hearing the roar of the engines through Baku’s iconic streets. It’s a game-changer designed to boost tourism and show off this incredible city. Now, maybe you’re a planner (I get it, so am I). Or perhaps you’re not flying in during that exact window. No worries! Azerbaijan’s ASAN e-Visa system is still one of the most straightforward online visa processes out there. For about $29, you can get a standard e-Visa processed in just 3 business days. Crunching for time? An urgent option for ~$70 gets it done in 3 hours. Both options grant you a 30-day stay, perfect for exploring the fiery mountains of Gobustan, the medieval alleys of Icherisheher, and, of course, the unparalleled thrill of an F1 street race. This new visa-on-arrival offer is more than just convenience; it’s an invitation. It’s Azerbaijan saying, “We want you here.” It’s your sign to finally book that trip to witness one of the most dramatic races on the calendar. So, what do you think? Is the 2025 Baku Grand Prix now on your must-see list? ### Türkiye-EU Visa-Free Agreement Closer Than Ever? Dreaming of exploring Europe without a visa? The Türkiye-EU visa-free agreement could make it happen! After years of negotiations, the EU is pushing to accelerate talks. Here’s why Turkish travelers should be excited (and how this could change your next Euro-trip). ✨ Key Takeaways 🚀 Visa Freedom on the Horizon? The EU urges faster progress on the Türkiye-EU visa-free agreement, which would allow Turks to visit Schengen countries without a visa. 📅 What’s Still Needed? Türkiye must meet a few final EU requirements, including security upgrades and policy reforms. 🌍 Why This Matters for You: Easier travel means more cultural exchanges, smoother vacations, and potential tourism boosts for both Türkiye and Europe. Is the Türkiye-EU Visa-Free Agreement Finally Happening? Imagine this: You’re enjoying a simit by the Bosphorus in Istanbul, and just a few hours later, you’re strolling through Rome’s Colosseum, no visa applications, no waiting, no stress. That future could be within reach, thanks to renewed momentum in the Türkiye-EU visa-free agreement talks. For Turkish travelers, Europe has always been a dream destination but the Schengen visa process (with its paperwork, fees, and embassy appointments) has been a major hurdle. The Latest Updates The EU has set 72 requirements for Türkiye to meet, and so far, 65 have been fulfilled. The remaining hurdles include updates to anti-terror laws and stronger data protection policies. While these are serious considerations, the EU’s latest push suggests confidence that a deal could happen sooner than expected. For travelers, this means: No More Visa Hassles: Say goodbye to long embassy lines and hello to spontaneous Euro-trips. Cheaper, Easier Travel: Airlines and tour operators might roll out more deals for Turkish travelers. A Boost for Tourism: More Europeans visiting Türkiye, and more Turks exploring Europe—win-win! This places Pakistan among the top countries facing significant financial losses from visa rejections. Alarming EU Visa Statistics for Pakistan According to official EU data: 35,829 rejections out of 98,432 applications (36.4% rejection rate) €2.9 million lost in non-refundable fees (€80* per application) 4th highest in global rejection numbers Higher rejection rate than India (12.1%) but better than Algeria (46.3%) How Pakistan Compares to Other Countries The EU report shows even more dramatic figures for other nations: Algeria: €6.2 million lost (46.3% rejection rate) Nigeria: €4.8 million lost (39.7% rejection rate) India: €3.9 million lost (12.1% rejection rate) Pakistan: €2.9M (36.4% rejection rate) Turkey: €2.5 million lost (15.8% rejection rate) While Pakistan's rejection rate is lower than Algeria's, the financial impact remains severe due to the high volume of applications. Why Such High Rejection Rates? European visa officers cite these main reasons for Pakistani rejections: Documentation Issues: Incomplete or forged documents Financial Insufficiency: Cannot prove sufficient funds for travel Travel Purpose Unclear: Vague or inconsistent itineraries Previous Visa Violations: Overstays or misuse of prior visas Success Rates by Embassy Interestingly, VisaTribe's analysis of EU stats shows approval rates vary dramatically by embassy: ✔ Higher Approval Embassies: Spain: 68% Italy: 65% Greece: 63% ✖ Stricter Embassies: Germany: 52% France: 58% Netherlands: 56% How Pakistani Applicants Can Improve Approval Chances Based on EU recommendations: ✅ Submit Complete Documentation: Use the official checklist from the embassy✅ Show Strong Financials: Minimum €70-100 per day of stay in clean bank statements✅ Provide Concrete Travel Plans: Detailed hotel bookings and return flight tickets✅ Demonstrate Home Ties: Property documents, employment verification, family dependents The Real Cost Beyond Money Each rejection: Creates a negative travel history Delays future applications Causes emotional distress for families Hurts genuine travelers due to increased scrutiny Final Advice for Applicants "Pakistanis should treat visa applications like a job interview," says VisaTribe Chief Afzal. "Preparation is key. One missing document can cost you €90 and future travel opportunities." Pro Tip: Apply through embassies with higher approval rates for Pakistanis like Spain (68%) or Italy (65%) rather than Germany (52%) or France (58%). Have you faced Schengen visa rejection? Share your experience to help others learn. And if applying soon - double check every document before submission! * Disclaimer: The estimated cost of rejected Schengen visa applications is calculated using an average fee of €85 per application. This figure accounts for the €80 fee in effect at the start of 2024 and the increased €90 fee introduced later in the year. Please note that this is an approximation for general reference only, as actual fees may vary depending on the consulate and applicant category. ### Fact Check: Did Pakistan's Passport Ranking Really Improve? Social media has been buzzing with claims that Pakistan’s passport has made a huge leap on the Henley Passport Index, jumping from 109th in 2023 to 100th in 2025. Sounds like progress, right? Well, not so fast. What’s Really Going On? When fact-checkers at jaaf.pk reached out to Henley & Partners Holdings Ltd for clarification, here's the exact response they received: "In the index we rank 199 passports according to how many destinations they have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to (their visa-free score). When two or more passports have access to the same number of destinations however, they are given the same ranking. This means the lowest number on the ranking will fluctuate, depending on how much consolidation there is higher up the list." What This Actually Means 1️⃣ No New Travel FreedomsPakistan's visa-free score remains unchanged at just 32 destinations - the same as 2023. The improved ranking number is simply due to other passports being grouped together in the rankings. 2️⃣ Still in the Bottom TierAt #100, Pakistan now shares its rank with countries like Somalia and Yeman - not exactly travel powerhouses. For comparison: Singapore: 193 visa-free destinations Japan: 190 visa-free destinations Germany/Spain: 189 Even India (58 destinations) outpaces Pakistan 3️⃣ The Hype vs RealityThis isn't about diplomatic progress - it's about how rankings are calculated. As Henley & Partners confirmed, when multiple countries have the same visa-free score, they receive identical rankings, causing positions to shift without actual improvement in travel access. The Bottom Line Don't let viral headlines fool you. True passport power comes from actual visa agreements, not ranking fluctuations. Until Pakistan negotiates more visa waivers, travel freedom remains limited. Your Turn:Have you found any creative ways to travel with a Pakistani passport? Share your hacks below! In 2017, she embarked on an epic 12,000-kilometer journey from Cape Town to London in her trusty 1997 Toyota Corolla Conquest, fondly named Tracy. What makes this story even more extraordinary? The car had already clocked over 300,000 kilometers before the trip began. This isn’t just a story about a road trip; it’s a testament to the spirit of adventure, the reliability of a legendary car, and the sheer determination of a woman who refused to let age define her limits. The Journey Begins Julia’s decision to drive from Cape Town to London wasn’t a lifelong dream but rather a spontaneous idea that quickly turned into a year-long adventure. At 80 years old, she decided to celebrate her upcoming 81st birthday and her car’s 20th anniversary in the most extraordinary way possible: by hitting the open road. 1997 Toyota CorollaIn June 2017, 80-year-old Julia Albu set off from Cape Town in her 20-year-old Toyota Corolla, embarking on an epic journey to her daughter’s home in London. With meticulous planning, Julia charted an eastern route through Africa, ensuring she’d experience the continent’s breathtaking landscapes, diverse cultures, and warm hospitality. She also partnered with sponsors and charities, turning her personal adventure into a journey with a purpose. Along the way, she documented her experiences on a blog, sharing her story with the world. Tracy the Toyota: A Car Built for Adventure Julia’s 1997 Toyota Corolla Conquest, Tracy, was no ordinary car. With over 300,000 kilometers on the odometer, Tracy had already proven her reliability over two decades of service. But this journey would be her ultimate test. From the rugged terrains of Africa to the smooth highways of Europe, Tracy carried Julia across deserts, mountains, and everything in between. Remarkably, the car faced no mechanical issues during the entire trip. Julia’s trust in her vehicle was unwavering, and Tracy delivered in spades. A Hero’s Welcome in London After a year of driving, exploring, and creating unforgettable memories, Julia and Tracy arrived in London to a hero’s welcome. The daring duo, now with a combined age of 102 years, had achieved the unimaginable. To prepare Tracy for the return journey, Julia took her to Currie Motors, a Toyota dealership in Isleworth, England. The service team was astounded by the car’s condition after such an arduous journey. With 366,000 kilometers on the clock, Tracy only needed a few minor repairs: a new exhaust mount, rear anti-roll bar bushes, and a full cam belt service. The technicians confirmed that Tracy was more than capable of making the trip back to Cape Town. A Legacy of Adventure and Inspiration Julia’s journey is a reminder that adventure knows no age limit. At 81, she proved that life is meant to be lived boldly, and that the road less traveled often leads to the most extraordinary experiences. Sadly, Julia passed away in 2021, but her legacy lives on. Her story continues to inspire countless people to chase their dreams, no matter how unconventional or daunting they may seem. And as for Tracy, the Toyota Corolla Conquest, she remains a symbol of reliability and endurance, a true testament to why this car was one of the best-selling vehicles of its time. What’s Your Excuse? Julia Albu’s incredible journey challenges us to rethink our own limits. If an 81-year-old grandmother can drive 12,000 kilometers across continents in a 20-year-old car, what’s stopping the rest of us from pursuing our own adventures? So, the next time you find yourself making excuses, remember Julia and Tracy. Pack your bags, hit the road, and create your own unforgettable story. After all, life is too short to stay parked in one place. ### Airalo Promo Codes for Global eSIMs Explore the World with Airalo's Revolutionary eSIMs Have you ever returned from a trip only to find a shocking phone bill waiting for you? It is recognized by almost every country in the world, but there is one notable exception: Pakistan. The reason behind this is rooted in historical conflicts involving Turkey and Azerbaijan. Historical Conflicts and Recognition Armenia has had a long-standing conflict with its neighboring countries, Turkey and Azerbaijan. These conflicts have deep historical roots, primarily revolving around territorial disputes and political disagreements. However, despite these issues, both Turkey and Azerbaijan have relations with Armenia. Turkish and Azerbaijani citizens can even travel to Armenia. As per the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Nationals of Turkiye with a normal passport can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 120 days and Nationals of Azerbaijan for a maximum stay of 180 days. So, why does Pakistan not recognize Armenia? Pakistan's stance is closely tied to its relationship with Turkey and Azerbaijan. Pakistan has chosen to stand in solidarity with these two nations due to their shared historical and cultural ties. This decision reflects Pakistan's loyalty to its allies rather than any direct conflict with Armenia itself. For travelers, Armenia is a hidden gem. It offers beautiful landscapes, ancient monasteries, and a rich cultural heritage. Despite the lack of recognition from Pakistan, Armenia welcomes tourists from all over the world, including those from Turkey and Azerbaijan. Armenia is a country worth exploring. Its capital, Yerevan, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Visitors can enjoy the city's historic architecture, vibrant markets, and delicious cuisine. Outside the capital, the stunning natural beauty of Armenia's mountains and lakes is a must-see. For those interested in history, Armenia's ancient monasteries and churches offer a glimpse into the country's deep religious and cultural roots. The country is also famous for its hospitality, making it a welcoming destination for tourists. So, next time you're planning a trip, consider visiting Armenia. You might just discover a new favorite destination in this historically rich and culturally vibrant country. ### Crafting Your Digital Backpack Greetings, fellow wanderers! Happy travels! ### Say Goodbye to Jet Lag: Expert Tips for Surviving Long Flights Traveling by plane is an exciting and convenient way to explore the world, but it can also take a toll on your body, particularly with the dreaded jet lag. This condition is characterized by fatigue, disorientation, and disturbed sleep patterns caused by long-haul flights that cross multiple time zones. But don't let the fear of jet lag keep you from traveling the world. With the right preparation and strategy, you can minimize its impact and arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and ready to explore. Here are some expert tips to help you survive jet lag and make the most of your travels: Prepare in advance Start preparing for your flight a few days before your departure. Get plenty of rest, eat nutritious foods, and avoid alcohol and caffeine. These can disrupt your sleep and make it harder for you to adjust to a new time zone. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate Drinking plenty of water is crucial for combating jet lag. Not only will it help you feel more refreshed, but it will also boost your immune system and reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Avoid sugary drinks and alcohol, as these can dehydrate you even more. Choose your seat wisely Selecting the right seat can have a big impact on how you feel during and after your flight. Choose a window seat so you can lean against the wall and stretch your legs. Alternatively, opt for an aisle seat to give you more room to move around and prevent blood clots. Stay active Sitting in one position for hours can lead to stiffness and fatigue, so it's important to stay active during your flight. Get up and walk around the cabin every hour or so, or do some simple stretches to help improve circulation. Adjust your sleep schedule Try to adjust your sleep schedule to the time zone of your destination a few days before your trip. If you're flying east, go to bed a little earlier each night. If you're flying west, go to bed a little later. This will help your body get used to the new time zone and reduce jet lag. Use earplugs and an eye mask Blocking out light and noise will help you get some much-needed rest on your flight. Invest in a comfortable eye mask and some earplugs to help you sleep more soundly. Use natural remedies There are several natural remedies you can use to help reduce jet lag. Melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep, is available over-the-counter in some countries. Other remedies include ginger, which helps reduce nausea, and essential oils like lavender, which can promote relaxation. Jet lag is a common and unpleasant side effect of long-haul flights, but with the right preparation and strategy, you can minimize its impact and arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and ready to explore. So, pack your bags, book your ticket, and get ready to say goodbye to jet lag once and for all! ### This is why Pakistan's passport ranking will never improve! When it comes to traveling the world, the color of your passport can make all the difference. In Pakistan, the divide between those who hold official blue and diplomatic passports and those with ordinary green passports is stark. While the common people with green passports often face visa-related struggles, airport hassles, and foreign integrations, the elites, their spouses, "children" under 28, and even their parents sail through the world of international travel without a care in the world. At the end of this blog, we have included a list of individuals and categories eligible for official or diplomatic passports in Pakistan, providing transparency and clarity regarding who benefits from these privileges. This list can serve as a reference for readers interested in understanding the criteria for obtaining these passports. Visa Privileges: Countless Visa-Free Destinations The first advantage of holding an official blue or diplomatic passport in Pakistan is the extraordinary visa privileges it affords. While green passport holders might spend weeks, even months, securing visas for their dream destinations, those with diplomatic or official passports can traverse the globe with ease. Countless countries extend a warm welcome to bearers of official passports, granting them visa-free access or expedited visa processing. Seamless Family Travel The perks of official blue and diplomatic passports extend to family members as well. Spouses, children under 28, and even parents of the elite passport holders enjoy the same seamless travel experiences, reinforcing the divide between the privileged few and the majority. Should Change Be Advocated? In a nation where inequality is a pressing concern, the disparity in passport privileges begs the question: Should we advocate for change? Should the system be reevaluated to level the playing field and provide equal opportunities for all Pakistani passport holders? A Call for Equality Perhaps it's time for a call to action—a movement that advocates for equality in travel privileges, ensuring that every Pakistani can explore the world without unnecessary hindrances. But sometimes, I also need to take care of my personal grooming. That's why, during my visit to the outskirts of Astana, Kazakhstan, I decided to get a haircut at a local salon. What I didn't expect was that it would turn into one of the most memorable experiences of my trip. The Challenge of Finding a Salon Finding a good hair salon in a foreign country can be tricky. You never know what kind of service or quality you'll get. Plus, there's always the language barrier to deal with. I spent days looking for a salon that looked modern and reputable. I wanted to avoid any mishaps or disasters with my hair. After all, it's one of the first things people notice about you. Finally, I stumbled upon a salon that seemed promising. It had a sleek and stylish design, with state-of-the-art equipment and friendly staff. I decided to give it a try. The Adventure of Communicating with the Stylist As soon as I entered the salon, I was greeted by a male stylist who smiled and welcomed me. He looked professional and confident, which gave me some reassurance. However, as soon as we started talking, I realized that he didn't speak English at all. He only spoke Kazakh, which I didn't understand either. This made communication very challenging. I tried to explain what kind of haircut I wanted, using simple words and gestures. But he seemed confused and clueless. He kept nodding and smiling, but I wasn't sure if he got my message. I showed him a picture of the haircut I wanted on my phone, hoping that it would help. But he still didn't seem to get it. He started pointing at different parts of my head, asking me questions in Kazakh that I couldn't answer. At this point, I was getting frustrated and nervous. I wondered if he would ruin my hair or give me something completely different from what I wanted. He sensed my anxiety and called his colleague, who spoke a little English, to help us out. She tried to translate our conversation, but it was still difficult. We had to repeat ourselves several times, using different words and examples. It took us almost half an hour to finally agree on the haircut I wanted. It was a long and exhausting process, but we managed to overcome the language barrier with patience and cooperation. The Satisfaction of Getting the Perfect Haircut After we settled on the haircut, the stylist proceeded to work on my hair. He was very careful and meticulous, making sure that every strand was in place. He would show me the progress of his work from different angles, asking me if I liked it or not. I would nod or shake my head accordingly, giving him feedback. He was very responsive and attentive to my preferences. He made adjustments and corrections whenever necessary. He also gave me some tips and advice on how to take care of my hair. He was clearly very skilled and experienced in his craft. He knew what he was doing and how to do it well. The result was amazing. He gave me the perfect haircut that suited my face and style. It was exactly what I wanted and more. I felt like a new person. I thanked him profusely for his excellent service and complimented him on his talent. He thanked me back and said that he enjoyed working with me. He then offered me a cup of tea and some snacks, which was very kind of him. We chatted for a while, using his colleague as an interpreter. We learned more about each other's backgrounds and cultures. He told me that he had been working as a stylist for over 10 years and that he loved his job. He said that he liked meeting new people and making them happy with his work. I told him that I was a traveler who loved exploring new places and cultures. I said that I liked learning new things and having new experiences. We found out that we had a lot in common, despite our differences in language and culture. We became friends in a short time. The Conclusion of My Adventure Getting a haircut in the outskirts of Astana, Kazakhstan, was more than just a grooming service. It was an adventure that taught me valuable lessons about communication and culture. It showed me that language barriers can be overcome with collaboration and patience. It also showed me that people can connect with each other through their passions and interests. The salon was more than just a place to get a haircut. It was a place to experience hospitality and professionalism. The haircut was more than just a change of appearance. It was a change of perspective. If you're ever in the outskirts of Astana, Kazakhstan, and need a good haircut, don't hesitate to visit this salon. You'll be surprised by how much you'll gain from this experience. It's not just a haircut. It's an adventure. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/56154326596425631/ ### Discover Song Saa Private Island: A Sustainable Luxury Retreat in Cambodia If you're searching for an extraordinary tropical retreat that not only pampers you with luxurious comforts but also embraces sustainability with open arms, then Song Saa Private Island in Cambodia is the perfect destination for you. There are many unknowns, different cultures, languages, and customs to navigate, not to mention the practicalities of actually getting around and making the most of your time. To help you get started, here are 7 important tips for first-time young Pakistani travelers: Get your documents in order. Make sure your passport and visa are up-to-date, and check the expiration dates well in advance of your trip. It's also a good idea to make copies of your passport and visa, as well as any other important documents, and keep them in a safe place. Plan your itinerary. Before you leave, do your research and plan out your itinerary. This will give you a good idea of what you want to see and do while you're away and will help you make the most of your time. Learn a few key phrases. Even if you don't plan on speaking the local language fluently, it's a good idea to learn a few key phrases that you can use to get by. This will make it easier for you to communicate with locals and will show them that you're making an effort to learn about their culture. Be mindful of local customs. Different countries have different customs and norms, so it's important to be respectful of these when you're traveling. For example, in some countries, it's considered rude to point with your feet, while in others it's customary to remove your shoes when entering someone's home. Stay safe. This might seem like a no-brainer, but it's worth mentioning. When traveling, always be mindful of your surroundings and take precautions to stay safe. This might mean avoiding certain areas of the town at night, carrying your valuables close to you, or being careful when using ATMs. Be open-minded. One of the best things about travel is that it exposes you to new and different cultures. So, be open-minded and willing to try new things. Whether it's trying new cuisine, taking part in a local festival, or meeting new people, embrace the experience and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Have fun! Above all, remember that you're on vacation! So, relax, have fun, and enjoy the experience. Travel is an opportunity to see new places, meet new people, and create new memories, so make the most of it. Traveling for the first time as a young Pakistani can be a little overwhelming, but with a little preparation and a positive attitude, it can also be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. So, pack your bags, grab your passport, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! ### Four Passports You Don't Want To Have! The Henley Passport Index 2023 has ranked the passports of Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan as the worst in the world. This ranking is based on the number of destinations that holders of these passports can access without the need for prior visa arrangements. Out of the four countries, Afghanistan ranks last on the index, with a visa-free score of only 26. Pakistani passport holders have slightly better access to the world, with a visa-free score of 31. However, both countries are considered to have some of the world's worst passports. Syria and Iraq also have low visa-free scores of 29. The low rankings of these four countries' passports are attributed to various factors, including political instability, security concerns, and economic challenges. Afghanistan and Iraq have faced security challenges due to prolonged conflicts and instability. Syria has experienced a civil war for over a decade, leading to a humanitarian crisis. Pakistan has been facing economic challenges for several years, leading to limited opportunities for its citizens. Despite these challenges, the government of Pakistan has been making efforts to improve the passport's ranking by negotiating visa-free agreements with other countries. Having a passport with a low visa-free score limits an individual's opportunities to travel, study or work abroad. It can also impact their ability to conduct business internationally. This ranking can have a significant impact on the citizens of these countries who are looking to travel or expand their business overseas. The Henley Passport Index 2023 also reveals the countries with the world's most powerful passports, including Singapore, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Spain, and Italy. These countries have visa-free scores of 194, 192, 191, 191, and 191, respectively. The United States is ranked ninth on the index, with a visa-free score of 185. Having a powerful passport provides individuals with greater opportunities to travel, work, and study abroad. It also allows them to access more business opportunities globally. In conclusion, the Henley Passport Index 2023 highlights the challenges faced by passport holders of the world's worst passports. It emphasizes the need for governments to address the issues that limit their citizens' access to the world. It also highlights the importance of a passport in today's globalized world and the opportunities that come with holding a powerful passport. Holders of these low-ranked passports should explore the various options available to them to increase their visa-free access to other countries. Governments of these countries should also work towards improving their citizens' access to the world by addressing the underlying factors that contribute to their low rankings on the index. ### Denied! Exploring the Top 11 Causes of Visa Application Rejections Applying for a visa can be an exciting yet nerve-wracking process, as it determines whether you can travel to a particular country. Unfortunately, many visa applications get rejected for various reasons. In this blog post, we will explore the common causes behind visa rejections and help you understand why they occur. By familiarizing yourself with these reasons, you can increase your chances of a successful visa application and avoid unnecessary setbacks. 1. Criminal Past:If you have been involved in any criminal activities in the past or have pending charges against you, it can result in visa rejection. Immigration authorities prioritize the safety and security of their country, so it is crucial to maintain a clean record. 2. Fraudulent Documents:Submitting counterfeit or forged travel documents is a serious offense and will almost certainly lead to visa rejection. Always ensure that your travel documents, such as passports and identification cards, are authentic and valid. 3. Lack of Clarity:When applying for a visa, it is essential to clearly state the purpose of your visit and provide adequate information about your intended activities. Failing to explain your plans in detail may raise doubts about the legitimacy of your trip and result in a visa refusal. 4. Damaged Passport:A damaged passport, with torn or missing pages, can lead to visa rejection. It is crucial to have a passport in good condition, as any signs of tampering or damage can be seen as suspicious. 5. Passport Invalidity:Ensure that your passport is valid for the entire duration of your intended stay. An expired passport or one that is due to expire soon may lead to a visa rejection. Check your passport's expiration date well in advance and renew it if necessary. 6. Lack of Proof of Travel Itinerary:When applying for a visa, it is important to provide a detailed travel itinerary, including flight reservations, accommodation bookings, and planned activities. Failing to provide this information may raise doubts about the credibility and purpose of your trip, resulting in a visa refusal. 7. Invalid Reference Letter:A letter of reference, particularly for business or employment-related visas, plays a crucial role in demonstrating the purpose and legitimacy of your trip. Ensure that your reference letters are valid, accurate, and come from reputable sources. A letter that is forged or lacks credibility may lead to visa rejection. 8. Insufficient Funds:Immigration authorities want to ensure that applicants have enough funds to support themselves during their stay. If you fail to provide evidence of sufficient financial means to cover your expenses, your visa application may be rejected. Make sure to provide bank statements, proof of employment, or any other relevant documents to demonstrate your financial stability. 9. Invalid Travel Insurance:Having valid travel insurance is often a requirement for visa applications. If your travel insurance is expired, inadequate, or does not meet the specific requirements set by the immigration authorities, it can lead to a visa rejection. Double-check your insurance coverage and ensure it meets all the necessary criteria. 10. No Proof of Accommodation:When applying for a visa, it is important to provide evidence of where you will be staying during your visit. Failure to present a confirmed hotel reservation, invitation letter, or any other proof of accommodation may result in a visa refusal. Ensure that you have all the necessary documents to demonstrate your intended place of stay. 11. Unfavorable Visa Scenario:Sometimes, visa rejections occur due to factors beyond an applicant's control, such as political tensions, diplomatic issues, or changes in immigration policies. Unfortunately, these situations can lead to a visa application being rejected, even if all the requirements have been met. While this reason may be disheartening, it is important to remember that visa situations can change over time. Understanding the common reasons behind visa rejections is crucial for anyone applying for a visa. By avoiding past criminal actions, ensuring the authenticity of travel documents, providing detailed explanations for your trip, and meeting the necessary requirements, you can improve your chances of a successful visa application. Remember to double-check all your documents, comply with the regulations, and be prepared for unforeseen circumstances that may impact your visa situation. ### In 2022, the Schengen visa applications of citizens from the following 10 countries were most frequently denied. As you approach immigration upon arrival, it's essential to be prepared for the questions that immigration officers might ask you. These questions serve to ensure the integrity of the immigration process and help officers assess your eligibility to enter the country. In this blog, we'll explore the five common questions immigration officers may ask and provide you with insights to make your immigration experience smoother. What Is the Purpose of Your Trip? Ah, the quintessential question! Immigration officers want to know why you're visiting their country. Are you going for tourism, business, education, or some other purpose? It's crucial to be honest and clear in your response. Remember, immigration officers have seen countless travelers before you, so avoid vague or contradictory answers. Be prepared to provide supporting documents if necessary, such as hotel reservations, business invitations, or enrollment letters from educational institutions. Where Will You Stay? Immigration officers need to ensure that you have proper accommodation during your stay. They may ask for details about your intended place of stay, such as the name and address of your hotel, hostel, or the person you're staying with. Having this information readily available will demonstrate that you have made appropriate arrangements and help alleviate any concerns the officer may have. Do You Have Travel Insurance? Travel insurance is not only a smart investment but also a common requirement in many countries. Immigration officers may ask if you have travel insurance to ensure that you are adequately protected in case of any unforeseen circumstances or medical emergencies during your trip. If you have travel insurance, be ready to provide the relevant details, including the coverage period and policy number. Do You Have a Return Ticket? Immigration officers want to confirm that you have a clear plan for leaving the country within the permitted timeframe. They may ask for proof of a return ticket or onward travel arrangements. This requirement aims to prevent individuals from potentially overstaying their visas or engaging in unauthorized activities. Ensure that you have your return ticket or itinerary readily accessible to present to the officer if asked. How Will You Support Yourself During the Stay? Sustainability is key! Immigration officers may inquire about how you intend to finance your stay in their country. They want to ensure that you have the means to support yourself financially without becoming a burden on the local economy or resorting to illegal means of income. Be prepared to provide evidence of your financial stability, such as bank statements, credit cards, cash, or proof of sponsorship from a host or institution. What Happens If a Traveler Does Not Have Evidence to Support Their Answers? It's understandable that sometimes travelers may not have all the requested evidence immediately available. In such cases, honesty is the best policy. If you don't have the required documents at that moment, explain your situation politely and provide a reasonable explanation. Immigration officers have discretion and may consider alternative forms of evidence or allow you to present the required documentation at a later stage. However, it's crucial to note that providing false information or withholding relevant details can have serious consequences and may result in denial of entry or other legal complications. Preparing for the questions immigration officers may ask you upon arrival in a foreign country can significantly enhance your immigration experience. By familiarizing yourself with these common questions and ensuring you have the necessary supporting documents, you'll be better equipped to answer confidently and truthfully. Remember, immigration officers are there to uphold the immigration laws and policies of their country, and by cooperating and being prepared, you can start your journey on the right foot. What started as a casual discussion quickly escalated into an eye-opening account of the lengths some individuals are willing to go to obtain a Nigerian passport unofficially. It all began with a simple statement: "Nigeria, you can buy one. Obviously not officially." Person 1's cryptic response intrigued readers and Person 2 couldn't resist but inquire further, "I am curious, but how does one do that?" Person 1, claiming insider knowledge, revealed the unconventional route to acquiring a Nigerian passport outside official channels. They suggested that interested individuals should visit the passport office in Nigeria armed with extra money to cover the cost of supporting documents. According to Person 1, locals possess the necessary know-how to navigate this unorthodox process and can guide prospective buyers in their negotiations with the right people. To add another layer of complexity, Person 1 disclosed rumors of passports being purchased at the border as well. By paying a substantial sum, individuals can allegedly bypass the stringent regulations and obtain a passport on the spot. They even shared an anecdote about their brother's friend, who had no ties to Nigeria but managed to secure a passport through this method. The "extra" money reportedly facilitated hassle-free travel across West Africa. While it remains unclear how widespread this underground market is or the actual cost involved, the conversation on social media highlights a glaring issue: the vulnerability of official passport systems to manipulation. The potential risks associated with these illicit practices are undeniable, raising concerns about national security, identity theft, and human trafficking. Nigerian Passport Historical RankingThe Nigerian passport has experienced a notable upward trajectory in the index, reflecting the growing recognition of Nigeria's international standing. This improvement is attributed to various factors, including diplomatic efforts, enhanced bilateral agreements, and improved security and economic conditions within the country. With each upward move on the Henley Passport Index, Nigerian passport holders gain increased mobility and travel opportunities. A higher ranking translates into more visa-free access to an expanding list of countries, reducing travel restrictions and facilitating greater ease of movement across borders. This, in turn, fosters economic and cultural exchanges, promotes tourism, and strengthens diplomatic ties. Nigerian authorities are urged to take note of these revelations and strengthen their passport issuance processes to prevent the exploitation of their document's value. Additionally, cross-border collaborations with neighboring countries are crucial to curbing the ease with which passports are obtained illegally. As this conversation continues to circulate on social media platforms, it serves as a stark reminder of the loopholes and weaknesses within bureaucratic systems worldwide. It also underscores the urgent need for countries to enhance their passport security measures, ensuring the integrity and legitimacy of these vital identification documents. In a world where mobility and globalization are increasingly interconnected, governments must prioritize the protection of their citizens' identities and work together to combat the thriving market for illegal passports. Only through concerted efforts and a commitment to robust security protocols can nations safeguard their borders and maintain the trust of their citizens. Disclaimer: The intent of this article is to shed light on an ongoing issue; it does not endorse or encourage any illegal activities related to passport acquisition. Obtaining a passport through unauthorized means is illegal and may result in severe consequences. ### How I Turned My Passion for Travel into a $1K Monthly Income with Travelpayouts If you love traveling and sharing your experiences with others, you might be wondering how to make money from your passion. Begpacking refers to the practice of travelers who ask locals for money or sell items on the streets to fund their travels. This trend has been on the rise in popular tourist destinations in Asia and Europe, with many backpackers using signs that read "I'm traveling around the world, please help me" or "I'm broke, give me money". While some see it as an innovative way to fund their travels, others view it as exploitative and disrespectful to local communities. Who are begpackers? Begpackers are western backpackers, most often traveling visa-free in Asia, who beg for charity from the locals. They are often seen sitting on the streets with a hat or a sign asking for money to fund their travels. Begpacking is a controversial trend in modern travel culture that has sparked debates about the ethics and morality of begging for travel funds. It is a phenomenon that has been increasing in recent years, and it is seen as a form of privilege that is perpetuated by white Westerners. Is begpacking ethical? The ethics of begpacking are heavily debated. Some argue that it's a harmless way to fund a trip, while others believe that it's exploitative and disrespectful to the local communities. Begpacking can be seen as an extension of privilege that allows some Western travelers to take advantage of poorer countries' economies. Furthermore, some people may see it as an act of entitlement or disrespect, as it implies that the traveler assumes they have a right to ask for money from strangers. The Risks of Begpacking Begpacking comes with several risks, both legal and personal. Many countries have strict laws against begging, and those caught doing it could face fines, imprisonment, or deportation. In some cases, authorities may view begpacking as a threat to national security and treat it as a criminal offense. Begging on the streets also puts begpackers at risk of theft, scams, and physical assault. Some may see begpackers as easy targets and exploit their vulnerability. Moreover, begpacking can create a negative image of travelers, and the tourism industry as a whole. It undermines the value of work and the efforts of those who save and budget to afford their travels. It also puts the tourism industry in a bad light, as it reinforces the stereotype that tourists are wealthy and entitled. Instead of relying on the generosity of strangers, responsible travelers can find alternative ways to fund their trips. Alternatives to Begpacking There are several alternatives to begging that travelers can explore to fund their trips. One option is to work while traveling. Many countries offer work visas that allow travelers to work part-time while they explore the country. Others can take up freelance work that they can do remotely. Another option is to participate in volunteer programs or exchange programs. These programs allow travelers to give back to the community while also gaining a unique cultural experience. Finally, travelers can save and budget before embarking on their trips. By setting a realistic budget and cutting unnecessary expenses, travelers can afford to travel without resorting to begging. Begpacking is a controversial trend in modern travel culture that raises ethical and safety concerns. As responsible travelers, we should aim to respect local customs and values and find alternative ways to fund our trips. By doing so, we can contribute to the positive image of travelers and the tourism industry as a whole. ### Excuse me, do you have a spare cigarette for a 'lost' soul in a new country? As a traveler, I have always been fascinated by the beauty and diversity of different cultures. One of my favorite things about traveling is the opportunity to meet new people and learn about their way of life. I especially love the challenge of overcoming language barriers and making meaningful connections with locals. On a trip to Kazakhstan, I discovered a unique way to start conversations with the locals. Although I am not a smoker, I would approach people, particularly men, and ask if they had a cigarette. To my surprise, this simple request would often lead to a conversation and a chance to learn about their life, culture, and experiences. One of my most memorable interactions took place on the streets of Almaty. I approached a man who was sitting on a bench, smoking a cigarette. I asked him if he could spare one, and he was more than happy to share. We struck up a conversation and talked about his life as a local. He was proud to show me his city and share his favorite spots with me. He took me to a small restaurant where we tried local cuisine and talked more about the history and culture of the area. Another memorable experience was when I asked a group of young men for a cigarette while they were playing soccer in a park. They invited me to join in their game, and we had a blast playing together. The language barrier was a challenge, but we managed to communicate through gestures and laughter. After the game, we shared a drink and talked about our respective cultures. These interactions taught me that a simple request for a cigarette can lead to meaningful connections and cultural exchanges. It showed me that the smallest gestures can make a big difference in breaking down barriers and bringing people together. As a Pakistani traveler, I was pleased to see that the hospitality and generosity of the people in Kazakhstan were similar to what I have experienced in my own country. These encounters also gave me a deeper appreciation for the beauty and richness of different cultures, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have these experiences. My travels have taught me that the world is full of kindness and beauty, and that we are all connected by our humanity. I believe that it is through these small gestures of kindness and open-mindedness that we can break down barriers and build bridges between cultures. And who knows, maybe the next time I travel, I will find a new way to connect with people and make the world a little smaller and a lot friendlier. ### Your Ultimate Flight Aggregator Discover the Best Deals on Airline Tickets with WayAway Traveling by air has never been easier or more affordable thanks to WayAway, the innovative flight aggregator that helps you find the best rates on airline tickets. As an ordinary Pakistani, I've had the pleasure of experiencing this firsthand. So, let me guide you through the joys of traveling with a Pakistani passport. The joy of being constantly questioned and searched at border control. The privilege of having visa restrictions in almost every country. The excitement of having your passport stamped with countless visa denials. The opportunity to experience different types of interrogation at airports. The pleasure of explaining why you travel to countries that have never heard of Pakistan. The chance to prove your innocence in countries where Pakistanis are often portrayed as terrorists. The satisfaction of waiting in never-ending visa lines and paying exorbitant visa fees. The thrill of missing flights due to lengthy security procedures. The opportunity to broaden your horizons by being stuck in transit lounges for hours. The honor of having your luggage thoroughly searched and often damaged by overzealous airport security. The joy of coming back home to find that your valuable possessions have been stolen from your luggage. In all seriousness, travelling with a Pakistani passport can be incredibly frustrating. It feels like you're constantly being judged and scrutinized because of where you come from. But despite all of this, we Pakistanis are a resilient bunch. We continue to travel and explore the world, even if it means enduring extra scrutiny at every border. So, if you're a fellow Pakistani planning on travelling abroad, just remember to pack your patience and sense of humor. It's going to be a bumpy ride, but at least it'll make for some great stories. ### Airport Taxi Scam: What I Have Learned So Far We all want our experiences in any new country to be good, but what if we encounter an airport taxi scam as soon as we land? Unfortunately, I have been through this type of problem many times, and if you ask "Have you ever been the victim of an airport taxi scam in a foreign country?" My answer would be Yes!!!... in Almaty, Kazakhstan So have I learned or tried to learn from this experience? My answer would once again be yes. We learn from our experiences and it is better for you to learn from my experience :) Now you must be thinking how can we avoid this scam? From what I have learned so far, if we choose one of these options, we can at least avoid this airport taxi scam. Using Public Transport In most countries, the public transport system is very good, cheap and safe. Also, these public transport networks are connected to airports, railway stations and bus terminals. But it is also observed that the public transport system is operational during certain hours and if you land at the airport outside of these hours, you may not be able to avail this option. Hotels with airport transfer The hotel or hostel where you will book accommodation can also provide airport transfer but their charges for this service may be higher. Uber or any similar service If the airport has internet access, use Uber or a similar service. This is also a popular option but you need to make sure which service works in the country you are visiting i'way I came to know about this service in 2018 and during the last four years, I have used this service quite a few times. i'way can be booked in advance, rates are fixed and you do not have to face any mishaps when you reach the drop-off. Still confused? check out the silent features of i'way You may also try this service if you want to avoid any unpleasant surprises on the first day in a new country. ### Journey through Time: Exploring the Haunting Beauty of Chernobyl If you're someone who's always looking for unique and unconventional experiences, then a visit to Chernobyl might just be the adventure you've been seeking. A trip to this abandoned city in Ukraine is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. It's a journey through time that takes you back to one of the most significant and devastating events of modern history. My first introduction to Chernobyl started in 1999 when my friend's computer crashed on April 26, 1999, and he contacted me to check his PC. I did my research and found that his PC BIOS was damaged because of a computer virus CIH, also known as Chernobyl. For those who are not familiar, Chernobyl was the site of the world's worst nuclear disaster, which occurred on April 26, 1986. The explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant led to the release of radioactive material that affected the lives of thousands of people. The immediate area was evacuated, and since then, the city and its surrounding area have been frozen in time. Visiting Chernobyl is not for the faint of heart. The tour itself is a bit of a surreal experience, from the moment you step into the van that takes you into the exclusion zone. You're surrounded by a vast forest, and as you drive further in, you start to see the first signs of abandoned buildings and houses. You'll see the rusted, abandoned vehicles, crumbling apartment blocks, and the eerie silence that engulfs the entire city. Its Ferris wheel, in particular, has become a symbol of Chernobyl The tour is led by a knowledgeable and experienced guide who will take you through the history of the disaster, the events that led up to it, and the aftermath of the explosion. You'll see the remains of the nuclear power plant, including the infamous reactor number 4. You'll also get to visit the abandoned city of Pripyat, which used to be home to over 49,000 people before the disaster. One of the most striking features of Chernobyl is how nature has taken over the abandoned city. Trees and plants have grown in the most unlikely places. The sight of the abandoned amusement park, with its rusted Ferris wheel, is both haunting and beautiful at the same time. It's worth noting that safety measures are taken seriously during the tour. You'll be given a dosimeter to measure radiation levels, and the guide will make sure that you don't go into areas that are still highly contaminated. It's also essential to follow the rules and regulations of the tour, as the exclusion zone is a highly controlled area. Visiting Chernobyl is a unique and unforgettable experience. It's a journey through time that will take you back to one of the most significant events in modern history. The haunting beauty of the abandoned city and the stories of the people who lived through the disaster will leave a lasting impression on you. If you're someone who's looking for a different kind of adventure, then a trip to Chernobyl should definitely be on your bucket list. 33 years 5 months later, I stood in the same spot across from the infamous reactor No. 4, now covered by a shiny arch. ### Visa requirements for Pakistani citizens Check visa requirements for Pakistani citizens The information we share here is intended as a guide only and in accordance with International Air Transport Association guidelines. The site is named Chernobyl-2, but is popularly known as Daga Duga was a Soviet over-the-horizon (OTH) radar system used as part of the Soviet anti-ballistic missile early-warning network during the cold war. The system operated from 1976 to 1989. Two operational Dura radars were deployed, one near Chernobyl and Chernihiv in Ukraine, the other in eastern Siberia. The systems were extremely powerful. Over 10 MW in some cases, and they broadcasted in the shortwave radio band. They appeared without warning, sounding like a sharp, repetitive tapping noise at 10 Hz, which led to it being nicknamed by shortwave listeners as “Russian Woodpecker” The random frequency hops disrupted legitimate broadcasts like amateur radio, commercial aviation communication, and utility transmissions. lt resulted in thousands of complaints by many countries worldwide. The radar was abandoned in 1986 because of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. At the end of 1987, the system partially shut down and fully shut down at the end of 1989. I visited the site in 2019. ### A Journey From FB Post To The Desk Of President Take a stand for yourself and refuse to let people steal your joy. You have this power to say “This is NOT how my story will end”. I did the same. On the 31st of May, 2019, My entry was denied, my movement was restricted and I was deported back to Pakistan after 24 hours at KBP airport in Ukraine despite having a valid visa. I was tired, I was angry, I was feeling violated, and I lost a big amount financially but I was not hopeless because, in the end, it’s all about self-respect. You have to respect yourself so others can start respecting you. I posted my experiences on FB. I shared it on my FB timeline and on my page. I spoke with others. I told them every single detail because I believe in “bringing shame into the light.” At the same time, I was hosting a guy from Ukraine. He was traveling around the world from the last couple of months and we had a great time together exploring Pakistan. He is an amazing storyteller and I just love his stories. One night we were sitting in Minapin, Gilgit-Baltistan and he asked me. You have traveled to many countries but not Ukraine. Why? I smiled, took a deep breath, and said..Okay, it’s my turn to tell you an interesting story. I told every single detail of my Ukraine incident. He was shocked and embarrassed after listening to my story. A few days later he posted a 10000 words thread on his profile about my experience at KBP airport in Ukraine. The post went viral. In just one night I got dozens of supporting messages from the people of Ukraine. They put pressure on their govt to change the immigration system. My incident was discussed in high-level govt meetings. The journey I started from one Facebook post reached the desk of the President of Ukraine. On the 9th of August, 2019 I was officially welcomed by the Immigration, Border Security guards, Kyiv Tourism Promotion Department, Kyiv Tourism Association, and media teams at the same KBP airport in Ukraine. Kyiv Tourism sent me an official invitation. I went to Ukraine with my wife for 6 days and the trip was organized and fully sponsored by Kyiv Tourism. I am happy that they apologized to me and said that it was a mistake last time and you are welcome. This is the power of social media and speaking for yourself. I enjoyed their hospitality, meeting with new people, and giving interviews every day and Ukrainian people start recognizing me on street. Now changes were made in the Ukrainian system and the Border Security guards are getting refresher training. People are thanking me and saying that all the positive changes are coming in the system because of a Pakistani guy. 🇵🇰 ### In the Land of Oil and Snow: From Pakistan to Siberia Most of us travel for obvious reasons and some (not so obvious) reasons, especially from Pakistan To Siberia I was born and raised near the desert and from my childhood, I used to hear one line whenever we were enjoying a cool breeze “yeh Siberia ke hawa hai aur Quetta sa aa rahie hai”… The word Siberia stuck in my mind since childhood and I always wanted to visit this place. This goes hand in hand with the saying of everything happens for a reason. I got married a few years ago and interestingly my wife (now ex) was born in Siberia but they moved to another country when she was young. So I decided let’s give it a shot. In 2018, I started my journey from my hometown Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab to my wife’s hometown Nizhnevartovsk, West Siberia. The main objective was to reach Siberia and find my wife's family apartment, take photos of their apartment in Nizhnevartovsk city, and share it with my in-laws because they left the city 30 years ago and never visited again. First I went to Almaty, Kazakhstan, took a train ride to Astana, took a flight to Omsk, Russia then a long train trip to Nizhnevartovsk, West Siberia In short, I reached Siberia with zero knowledge of the Russian language but local people help me a lot and I found the apartment with just the number of the building and old pics of my in-laws 🙂 Everyone in the train and hostel was surprised to meet a Pakistani in a city that is the center of the West Siberian oil-producing region and one of the wealthiest cities in the country but not a tourist destination. Will love to go there again in winter to enjoy... “Siberia ke thandi hawayein” Found it!!! :) ### Finding Generosity in Unexpected Places: A Travel Story from Kazakhstan It was the first day of Eid in Kazakhstan. My ATM card suddenly stopped working (I later found out that it was blocked by the bank) and sagging on gold, I had forgotten my wallet somewhere. I was wandering the Kazakh countryside with some Kazakh notes in my pocket. I was tired of exhaustion and starving. At that time I had only one thought in mind… Should I buy something to eat or a bus ticket to Astana? I was passing by a village when I saw a small cafe on the side of the road. The scent coming from there overwhelmed the hunger over the ticket. I almost lay down in a chair outside the cafe. After some time when the legs got some rest, the ticket started to dominate the hunger. I thought for a while and took a middle path. A cup of tea and bus tickets! One of the cafe workers came out of the café and start looking at me. Only one word came out of my mouth “tea”. He smiled and walked inside. I was enjoying my tea and he went inside. I was thinking in my mind that a wonderful and lively fragrance called me back to this cafe… He was standing in front of me and there was an apple pie on the table with a cup of tea. I tried to say “no” in every word of Russian, English, Urdu, and Punjabi, but he went inside with a smile. But as soon as I took a bite of the pie, the hunger for the bus ticket faded away in comparison to the sweet taste of the dessert.  After I finished my tea and pie, my stomach and heart were content, but my pockets and legs were not. I had no idea how much the tea and pie cost. I went inside the cafe and as I awkwardly gestured for the bill, the worker asked for my mobile phone. I handed it over, and he typed something on it before returning it to me. With a mix of relief and confusion, I looked at the screen of my phone, which simply read – — — “no money.. you are a guest… Eid” In the end, I didn't end up taking the bus to Astana that day. Instead, I wandered the countryside a little while longer, taking in the beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the people I met. It was a reminder that sometimes the best travel experiences are the ones that we can't plan or predict - they just happen, and we're lucky enough to be there to witness them. ### Falling in Love with Kazan Against All Odds I knew as much about the city as you do now. My introduction to this city was just a picture I saw on the internet a few years ago. That was a picture of a mosque … and that one picture pulled me to visit Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan. But when you arrive in the city at midnight after a twenty-four-hour train journey and you find out that your reservation for the first night in the hostel is not being received by the receptionist due to some technical reasons. So you can’t stay there overnight. Also, you should not be allowed to stay in the lounge. All you have to do is put one of your bag packs in the store and come back to the hostel twelve hours later. When all the hostels near the city are also booked and you have to spend a few hours with drunk people sleeping in the park. When the police pick you up from there, and you have to spend the rest of the night at the noisy Kazan railway station. Will you remain in love with this city like me? Why? Because all of a sudden you meet a beautiful stranger who has spent her first night in Kazan at the train station just like you. When you look at her, she looks like a beautiful Japanese doll, whose name you think of a Persian princess and when she speaks you say, no she is local. When you see her smile, you remember someone’s words… “Her smile is the simplest miracle that she can create anytime.” When you are the worst dancer in the world but she invites you to a tango dance but all the time your eyes are on the ground instead of each other because she is wearing long heels and you are barefoot. When you go to McDonald’s for breakfast with her and you start loving their slogan ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ While walking with her, you even forget that an hour later you have a train to Saint Petersburg. When you pack up your stuff from the hostel and arrive at the train station, you find that you are one minute late and the train has gone. When the next revelation comes to you that you have to take a flight for Minsk, Belarus from Saint Petersburg after five days and you will not be able to reach Saint Petersburg for the next four days. While sitting in the railway station lounge, You are canceling your missed train ticket and trying to get a refund. You are also canceling your ticket on the flight from Saint Petersburg to Minsk five days later and booking a hostel for four more days in Kazan. When few hours later, you book a ticket for a flight from Kazan to Minsk five days later and on the way back to the hostel, You stop at a coffee shop for a cup of coffee and someone comes to you and says…‘Welcome to Kazan’!!! You suddenly start smiling and immediately recall some of your own words, “No, she is local.” After a few days, when that beautiful stranger returned to her hometown and left Kazan, you felt like nature brought you here from the other side of the world, just to make you meet with this beautiful soul. And when, two years after all these events, you still want to go back to this city once again so that you can walk with this beautiful stranger, without fear of missing the train…. Do you think that such a city can be hated and forgotten??? Hotels In Kazan ### Discovering the Best of Both Worlds: A Pakistani Adventure in Belarus The year was 2015 And I still remember that beautiful day of June. “A beautiful day in June” !! You must be surprised to read this sentence. Yes, it was a beautiful day because I was in Belarus, not Pakistan. This was my first visit to Belarus. I spent two weeks in this country, walking the streets and getting so used to it that I extended my air ticket for another two weeks. There are three ways to travel in Minsk, The capital of Belarus. Trolley buses, underground metro, or #11 🧍🏻‍♂️ I mean our legs. If your proficiency in Russian is as good as mine, that is, a total of nine words, then do not take the risk of traveling here in buses or trolley buses because there is no announcement in English and you forget the signs of the path you have remembered when it takes a couple of turns. The safest mode of transport for me was by the metro because it runs in one line. Remembering stations is easy and sometimes there is an announcement in English so the chances of getting lost are less. But when both the weather and the people are beautiful, there is nothing wrong with getting lost. So on that beautiful day in June, I was lost in Minsk yet again. When I reached Minsk town hall while wandering, it was like a fair. Maybe it was a special day. Here, even on ordinary days, people look special and on special days, they look wonderful. There was so much hustle and bustle around town hall that I wondered what to see and what not to see. At that moment, some girls in very beautiful clothes passed in front of me. I followed them in a daze, They all stopped a short distance from the town hall with some of the girls already there, and so did I. My sixth sense was telling me that something amazing would happen now. Gradually a music beat started ringing in my ears and a group of girls started dancing. I watched them for a while. Then I thought that this time should be saved from the camera’s eye. I had just taken some pictures when it started to rain … the dance performance stopped but the music continued. I also went under the shed to avoid the rain. Meanwhile, three girls started dancing in the rain. I took out the camera again … the performances continued and so did the rain. I was so lost in the performance that a voice brought me back to Minsk. There was the same beautiful girl in front of me, who I had chased and reached here and was asking me, “Have you taken our photos?” If you are a Pakistani and a local girl comes to you in a public place in Pakistan and asks you the same question, the first thing that comes to your mind is which friend, brother, or cousin will answer your phone at this time? And who will help you with the police and the trouble to come? But I was thinking at the time that I am in Minsk, where I didn’t know the local language and I didn’t know the local law. Here, if I have to deal with the police, will it be “pocket money friendly” too? Everyone saw me doing photography, so I dared and nodded. She said, “Okay, wait a minute … I’ll just bring a friend.” I then began to look at the men in her group and thought that instead of wandering in Belarus for two more weeks, I would have to spend two weeks in the hospital or a prison. But fortunately, Now there were two girls in front of me … The other girl said to me in a very good American accent, “Have you just taken pictures?” I nodded again in affirmation… After a few moments of silence, she said again, “Can you share those pictures with us?” After hearing these words, my mind came out of the Belarusian prison and came back to the Belarusian beauties, so I replied Sure, why not? My favorite author Mustansar Hussain Tarar, whose travelogues made me want to see the world and meet strangers, once said “No country is beautiful, The people there are beautiful, Their attitudes, Who you meet, and all of these things together make a place beautiful.” Even today, seven years later, the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I look at a stranger with a camera is Valya’s face and her words, “Have you taken our photos?” I say yes in my heart and take the photo with a smile!!!
